My calves were sore, at first. Then I just started using them for 5Ks. In March I was slammed by multiple running injuries (I had been logging many miles in training and half marathons in another brand -) I ended up with bursitis in my right hip, piriformis syndrome and IT Band syndrome. I have been in PT and just started back, little by little. The only shoes I can wear that offer relief, I discovered, are my Newtons. Now that is all I wear.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4693984141568481726.post-66672044799642764202008-11-10T03:13:00.000-06:002008-11-10T03:13:00.000-06:00Those shoes look great - if you end up finding a p...Those shoes look great - if you end up finding a pair, I am curious to hear what you think of them. I saw your blog post, and thought I'd get back to you in regards to our shoes.

The couple you spoke with hit the nail on the head - Newton makes a mid foot/forefoot running shoe, designed the way it is, as we believe that a forefoot foot strike is the most efficient way to run. It's how we run when we're not wearing any shoes, and it allows the body's natural cushioning devices (our calf, Achilles tendon, and Plantar Fascia) to work in conjunction to absorb the shock of a runner when they hit the ground.

I'm happy to help with any questions that you may have, and you're welcome to contact me at the email address below. I trust that you found Luke's Locker carrying the Newton shoes in Dallas.

Take care and run strong,

Tory Oakland
tory@newtonrunning.comToryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07979687624018938189noreply@blogger.com
