I'M ON MY WAY !

Had a training session this morning at 8:30 and then home to pack the car and leave for Atlanta. The weather is a little iffy so I packed for cold and warm. Here's hoping it will just be nice on Sunday.

LOST

I can't believe that I got lost in my neighborhood ! I was on the trails that I usually take but the sky was looking rather dark and I decided I would cut across a field to a street that I could see. Big mistake ! I kept going on streets and couldn't find a way out to the main road. Finally I saw a lady putting some things in her car and asked how did I gt out to the road. I would never have made it on my own. I had to back track and take some left turns and eventually made it out.
The rain didn't wait til I got home . It started to sprinkle, I just pretended I was running the ING and kept going.

6 DAYS TO GO

It's getting close to the ING and I still need to get in some runs. Yesterday I went out to do a long run but the running gods were against me. I ended up only doing 3 miles.

On Thursday I had gone to the gym for training. It was core and I am still sore.

Tomorrow I am hoping for a good run if the weather cooperates. We are suppose to have big storms come in tonight.

I'M HOPING...

There are lots of things that I'm hoping, one is that the weather will be perfect to run in at the ING this year. Anything over 40 degrees would be an improvement.
I'm hoping the trees and azalea bushes will be out in bloom along with the sun.
I'm hoping because I have trained better this year that Katy and I will have a much better time, maybe even under the 3:01 I ran at Disney.
Because I want my time to at least match what I did at Disney I went out for my run today. The usual trail I take in the neighborhood.

GETTING READY

Yesterday was my first run since the Princess. I did 4.50 miles in the neighborhood. My legs felt a little sluggish but I knew I had to get out because the ING is coming up a week from Sunday.

This morning I was up at the gym for a training session. I wasn't surprised that she decided to do legs as we hadn't done them for some time. It was a good thing(as Martha would say) because it gives me a week to recover. After my session I did 20 minutes on the bike. I could barely walk out of the gym when I was finished.

PRINCESS RACE

Once upon a time there were three fair maidens who wanted to run a race to be a princess. They came from far away to the land of magic and make believe.

Their running shoes were their glass slippers.

Their royal fans waited patiently to cheer them when they ran past.
Following thousands of other princess wannabees they finally saw the castle.

The miles and time were ticking away. There was still 5 miles to go with hills to run up and the run through Epcot.

At last the finish was in sight and waiting to greet them were Mickey and Minnie. The royal medals were waiting just beyond the finish line.

After a much needed rest and shower , they donned their medals and headed to the California Grill to have their royal feast.

And they were happy ever after.

Any race I can run with my daughters is always a great race. Getting a PR even made it better. Thanks Jenny and Amy for all your effort and support you gave me.

TAMPA HERE I COME!

I was up at the gym this morning for a training session. I made sure we didn't do legs but still had a tough work out. This time it was abs, chest and triceps. What a combo! After I was finished I went upstairs an rode the bike for 30 minutes. I was suppose to do 2 miles running but decided that my knee could use a break from the pounding on the pavement it gets when I run.

Tomorrow I head to Tampa early in the morning so won't be blogging until sometime next week.

WILL RUN FOR TIARA

Yesterday I got my last long run in before the big race on Sunday. It was 11 miles and I was out there without a plan. I just kept running on different paths until I made the 11, some had hills which I walked up and down.
Today I'm still throwing things in the suitcase. I just duct taped my princess tiara to the top of my pink running hat. I think I'm having more fun just getting ready for this race.
