I'M SORE

So yesterday i went to boot camp which was all the classes combined because it was a holiday. We ran our mile to warm up and then hauled weights outside where Shayla had a circuit set up. We were to do squat thrust, walking lunges, a certain distance, then sprint down and back more lunges and start again. This was to be done 5 times, I could only manage 4, between the heat and feeling hungry I faded.
After boot camp we went in to cool off and then had yoga with Heidi. Can you spot me in the picture ? This yoga is something new for me and I am a bit sore from it.

Today I can barely move and I've had a lot to do. Had to meet my friend for coffee, go to the dentist and get my hair done. Tomorrow I think I'll rest.

BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS

A beautiful morning with the temperature around 68, seems like Fall is coming. I put on my running shorts and headed out for a run. My intention was to just go the path past the police station and turn and come back but the weather was calling and it felt good to be out so I continued on a bit longer.
Once back home I got on the computer and started checking out races in my area for next week. There were two, one was the Run Proud for Dessert and the other was the Roof Dog Run. I have done the Roof Dog before and it is for a good cause so I signed up. This will give me incentive to get out and run this week. You know how hard it can be when you're just home from vacation.

Tomorrow is boot camp plus a yoga class that I am planning to attend. You can bring someone for free so Christy is going to go with me.

It feels good to be back home and in the swing of things, running the trails, signing up for races and doing Shayla's boot camp instead of mine.

DOUBLE DIPPED

Home from vacation and back to reality, this morning it was boot camp. I was the only one for awhile and then Heidi joined in.
Today it was hamstrings, lat pull down, bicep curls and row, five sets, ten reps each. After we finished that is was 60 abs and then stretch.
Shayla told me they were having a free yoga class tonight at 6 and would I be interested. Jenny has been telling me how helpful yoga has been for her so I thought I'd give it a try. Christy was going to go with me.
The class was led by Heidi and I found it very relaxing even though there were a few things that almost had me falling over.
They are offering an eight week class for beginners on Thursday nights and one of the girls asked if I'd like to do it, I signed up!
Who knew I would do two workout classes in one day and sign up for 8 weeks of yoga.

GOOD BY LINIKIN BAY

We left Maine early Saturday morning heading for Pennsylvania. Buddy had to be moved to a hospital in Portland where he received a blood transfusion. They still aren't sure what caused all the bleeding but he was released from the hospital Monday afternoon and I am happy to report that he arrived home tonight and has an appointment at his vets tomorrow.

We spent 2 days with my husbands brother and wife who live in Slippery Rock, PA. We got caught up on what everyone in the family is doing and saw pictures from their granddaughters wedding that took place this summer.

On Sunday while my husband and his brother were catching up on news I went out for a run/walk. Found a great path in the cemetery and no one was around to bother me.

On Monday Debbi and I went for a fast walk and I showed her my new trail. I'm not so sure she liked walking among the head stones.

This morning we headed back out on the road and are spending the night in Bowling Green, KY, tomorrow we hope to make it home, will take about 12 hours driving time.

SAY A PRAYER FOR BUDDY

Meet Buddy, the cutest little Westie. He got to come to Maine this year and was having a great time enjoying the cool temps, fresh sea air and all the attention from everyone.

Wednesday he started not feeling so good and by Thursday morning it wasn't good. He had blood coming from his mouth. A visit to the vet confirmed it was an infection from a tooth and he was sent home with antibiotics and pain medication.

Thursday night things got worse and he returned to the vet on Friday morning. They said he was bleeding internally and it was either rat poison or and immune disorder. It turned out to be the disorder.

He is stabilized and at the vets while they run more test. He won't be able to travel home for at least two more days.
If your reading this say a prayer for Buddy, he's the cutest little Westie you ever met.

BLUEBERRY MUFFINS AND BIRTHDAYS

After a day of heavy rain all of yesterday I awoke to the sun shinning and temperature around 65. I was going to make the Best ever blueberry muffin that I had printed out from the King Arthur Flour web site. Everyone was still asleep while i was busy baking in the kitchen. By the time the muffins were coming out of the oven the gang was up. We put a candle in one and sang Happy Birthday to Joanne. Oh, and they are the best ever blueberry muffins!
Boot camp was the next thing on my agenda. My sister and I headed out to the drive to set up our last one. We did shoulders, squats, back, legs and push ups. We also ran the hill between exercise.

Tonight we are having our final lobster dinner, Henry is bringing us 12 lobsters.

HERE WE GO AGAIN

This morning the sun was shinning and the temperature was around 64. I needed to get a run in because yesterday my husband and I went to Freeport to shop. There was a new trail that i wanted to try it took me through a path in the woods and then out on a road and then through some more woods and back to the street. I wished I'd put some money in my pocket because it went past the general store and I could have bought a warm cinnamon roll.

When I got back my sister was waiting to do boot camp. We set up 4 different exercises and in between we ran up the hill and back.

After showering the group went in to town to get lunch. Of course we all had something with lobster.
