RUN, WALK, HIKE

Well I'm back home and it was a great trip. On one of our mornings we went over to the park and saw some geese playing soccer...
and did some laps around the lake .

Amy, Tom, Gillis and I went to the Netherlands to see the Keukenhof Gardens.

We spent most of the day walking the paths and enjoying the nice weather.

Wearing these shoes made it a little difficult to keep up, clomp !

Thursday we all headed for Germany, to hike and enjoy the beautiful weather.

We had a great time hiking the many trails and being out in the nice weather.
Sadly all must come to and end and we returned home on Tuesday. Since I've been home this week I got one run in for 4.55 miles and one training session .

WHERE AM I GOING ?

You can get the best waffels with chunks of melted sugar in them, yum!
Stop in a chocolate shop and treat yourself to a praline filled with whip cream!

Don't forget a cold beer and some frites, hits the spot.
Pack my running shoes because after eating all that I will definitely need to run.
See you all later.

HUMPTY CINDY

Humpty Cindy went for a run
Humpty Cindy was having fun
Across the road and up the hill
Humpty Cindy took a spill.
SPLAT ! FLAT !
And that was that.

My first thought was, did anyone see. I looked around but there was no one. The next thing I did was check to see if I was okay and retrieve my glasses, water bottle and hat. Okay, the damage is I have a pair of matching red scrapes on my knees that are the size of a dime. I can live with that. Both palms of my hands were scrapped but not bleeding. Finger on right hand was bleeding but not broke. Right shoulder was sore but not bleeding. Scrapped the skin by my right eye, some bleeding and hit my right cheek bone, no bleeding. I felt like crying but sucked it up and was going to start for home but decided things couldn't get any worse so continued on my run. And it wasn't a bad run.

Miles run around 5
My Garmin quit so I don't really know for sure, but it is the usual route I take.

STOP BEATING MYSELF UP

I was suppose to do a 5K race on Saturday. It is one that I have run before and I like the course. I had everything set out the night before, bib, chip, shirt and shorts. I woke up in plenty of time to eat and get ready. As I was waiting to go I started getting really nervous. Don't ask me why, I don't know but I couldn't make myself get in the car and go. So, I missed the race and it has been bothering me all weekend that I did that. What a jerk.
Today in the mail I received a bracelet and it had a charm on it that said BELIEVE, that's what I didn't do Saturday. From now on I am going to "believe" in myself . I am a runner and I can do this. No more missed races!

SUCKY RUN

This is how it looked outside today when I went to do my run. The thing that you can't see in the picture is the humidity. Talk about being drenched, it was sucking the life out of me. I'm just hoping that it clears by Saturday for my race.
I did get 4.75 miles in but it wasn't because I was running, more like walking.

Earlier this week I trained , chest and triceps and today it was core. I also ran 2 miles on the treadmill on Tuesday.

DAY EARLY MILE SHORT

Rain, rain and more rain that has been the weather report for the last several days. Yesterday the weatherman was predicting big storms in the afternoon and for all day Sunday. I had a 6 mile run to do on Sunday. Somehow doing 6 miles on the treadmill at the gym just didn't appeal to me so I decided to do my run on Saturday. If you have a lot of rain there is bound to be high humidity and there was. I was drenched in sweat and tired so cut my run short by a mile. I still managed to get my miles in for the week.

Three B's

I was at the gym this morning for my workout and then to do some cardio. It was Back, Biceps and Bike. I found the bicep workout
to be the hardest of the three. I did 30 minutes on the bike, watching Rachael Ray helped pass the time.
