You know what they say about March, it's suppose to come in like a lion and out like a lamb. These last two days have been beautiful, temperature in the 60's and it makes it hard to think that we'll have more nasty weather.
I took advantage of the warm weather. Yesterday Allie had soccer so I wore my running shoes and did 2.50 miles on the trails near her game. Today she had another game but I stayed home and ran on my trails for 4.10 miles. There were lots of people out dressed in shorts. I even spied a huge turtle basking on a rock.
A big congratulations to Mark. He ran the Gasperilla Marathon today and finished with a time of 3:06:xx.This is a PR for him, way to go!

TODAY A PLAN
I just got home from signing up for a month of boot camp. I'd been thinking about doing this for some time and decide there's no time like now. The gal who teaches it was someone I've trained with before so I know I'll get a good workout. I got to the gym while the class was finishing up and they let me participate in the abs workout.
My plan today was to registrar for boot camp and then go over to the track and run some miles on a flat surface. When I left the gym it was chilly, spitting rain and windy but I had my warm shirt on and there were gloves and a hat in the car. I pulled in to the very empty parking lot put on my gear and headed out. Brr, had I lost my sanity! Okay I told myself just go run. I did one mile and then called it quits, but one is better than none.

NO PLAN
I had no plan for running today. It was breezy and the sun kept popping in and out. I decided to head past the municipal center on an out and back route, but when I made it back there was only 2.25 miles on my Garmin and I figured if I was out I might as well make it worth the trip so I crossed the street and head for the trails instead of home. Once i hit 3 miles I felt good and kept going. Finished my run today with 6.76 miles.

NO EXCUSE
Yesterday I awoke to the sound of rain on the roof, no running outside for me. I made coffee and then mixed up a batch of carrot apple cinnamon muffins for breakfast. I couldn't wait for them to come out of the oven. Nothing like a warm muffin and coffee and the nice thing about the muffins was that they are only 2 points on ww.
Since I couldn't run I asked Allie if she wanted to see Shutter Island. I figured I could scare some pounds off. We both enjoyed the movie. Not as scary as I thought it would be.
In the evening I made beef stir fry for dinner, which came out really good!
After a weekend of eating and baking I had no excuse to not run today. I can't believe that I was so eager to get out in 37 degree weather with no sun and run. I bundled up with my fleece running hat and my hot Under Armour shirt, fleece jacket, and gloves and headed out the door. Brr, it was windy to boot but I was running and knew I would soon be warmed up. The run felt good and I did 4.75 miles. Tomorrow they say we are going to have snow. What's with this crazy weather!

WHAT I NEEDED
My day was busy. It started with dropping Allie at school and then heading to Starbucks to have coffee with my friend. Once I left Starbucks I headed home so I could Skype Amy. She had wanted to see the Dr. Oz show on the 100 pound weight loss. I got every thing set up with the lap top facing the tv and the sound up so she could hear it. One nice thing about recording it was I was able to fast forward through the commercials.
Next on my agenda was lunch and then my husband and I had to run to Costco to get his new glasses. He had cataract surgery this month and his prescription has changed. While I was there I stocked up on lots of fruit and vegetables.
I was tired from the errands and decided not to run, but then Jenny called. She was telling me how cold it was and the wind was bitter with a temperature of only 50. "We're 62 today", I said. That was my first mistake. Second mistake was when she asked if I ran and I said no.
"What, you haven't run, that's a waste of 62 degrees." But I'm tired, it's 4 pm and I don't like to run in the afternoon were a few of my excuses, and then she said (this is where the kick in the butt comes in) "JUST GO DO IT."
So I got 3.45 miles in for the day and it did feel good even though my butt is sore from the big kick, it was what I needed.

WINTER OLYMPICS
I love the Winter Olympics and had been in front of the television all weekend watching the different events. However, you can't stay inside forever and since the sun came out yesterday and the temperature warmed up into the 40's I headed for the gym to do cardio and weights. I did a total body strength training workout and then 5 miles on the treadmill, watching the Olympics while I ran, how cool is that !
This morning I went back to the gym because the temperature was in the low 30's. I was only doing cardio today.
Miles today 5.25

NEVER TOO OLD
The caption for this picture would be, " Now you can walk 13 miles, can't you, Kate ?"
My older sister signed up, trained, and walked her first half marathon in January. Her time was 3:40:xx not bad for walking. She liked it so much that she decided she wanted to do another to celebrate her 70th birthday this year. She wanted her sisters to take part in this celebration, so we have all signed up for the Women's Half Marathon in St. Pete this November.
I am excited to be doing this with them. It was only two years ago when I did my first half at 65. I still remember how exciting that was to be racing with my daughters.
It just goes to show you that you're never too old to try something new. And hey you might even like it!

YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME
Yesterday I ran outside. The sun was out and it was a fairly decent day. I went to Kids Kastle and took some stale bread with me to feed the ducks. They seemed to enjoy the treat.
Today it was not so nice. I don't want to complain because we aren't having storms like the East is but it was grey and damp and I just didn't want to leave the house. I opted to stay in and try the Jillian on the wii. It wasn't a bad workout, in fact I was even sweating when I finished. My only problem was I had a hard time following so I was not quite in time with her and she let me know at the end by saying " YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME"
