TODAY A PLAN

I just got home from signing up for a month of boot camp. I'd been thinking about doing this for some time and decide there's no time like now. The gal who teaches it was someone I've trained with before so I know I'll get a good workout. I got to the gym while the class was finishing up and they let me participate in the abs workout.

My plan today was to registrar for boot camp and then go over to the track and run some miles on a flat surface. When I left the gym it was chilly, spitting rain and windy but I had my warm shirt on and there were gloves and a hat in the car. I pulled in to the very empty parking lot put on my gear and headed out. Brr, had I lost my sanity! Okay I told myself just go run. I did one mile and then called it quits, but one is better than none.

Cindy, you're right. One mile is better than none. Congratulations for pushing through the resistance and also knowing when enough is enough. Mindset is so important long term success with running or anything else.

As I was imagining you running in that weather, it made me think of Mr. Jimmy’s Birthday Challenge, a wonderful and inspiring video of a runner who defies all odds and decides to run 80K for his 80th birthday. All the obstacles he has to overcome to do this are amazing. And yet, he does it. Like you. Congratulations and best wishes on your training. Kate

Oh yay!! You'll love it - I LOVE my class!! I signed up for three months last summer and wondered how I'd ever do it... today I started month 10, LOL! It's addictive! I can't wait to read your report!
